【あちこち域外探訪記】呉散策、レンガ風景・・・ #３

メインの「はりま」を離れ、あちこち域外を探訪します

今回は呉のレンガ風景です

昭和町の煉瓦倉庫群界隈のレンガ風景を堪能し

海岸沿いに呉の中心地方向へ歩く・・・
海自に続いてＩＨＩの広大な工場
その敷地内に煉瓦造りの建物が・・・

残念ながら道路側は白く塗装が施されているが
うーむ、何とも重厚な意匠・・・
半円形の窓の連続性が美しい

平面的になりがちな煉瓦壁の部分も
窓周辺から下にかけて凹凸が施され
単調さを排除する凝ったデザインが素晴しい

上の棟に連なる棟・・・
こちらは方形の窓
サルミサッシが嵌め込まれている
でも、窓上部にはしっかり窓枠用の積み方が施され・・・

白く塗られた煉瓦壁に赤い屋根
緑の木々から伸び上がる桜の老木・・・
ひょっとしたら一番美しい時期に訪れたのかもしれない
